The Artea Trio, made up of three celebrated musicians - Thomas Gould (violin), Benjamin Roskams (viola) and Ashok Klouda (cello) - performs J.S. Bach’s monumental Goldberg Variations, originally written for keyboard.
The members of Artea met whilst studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2001. Since then they have performed at festivals throughout the UK including the BBC Proms, and at venues such as the Wigmore Hall and Purcell Room as well as live broadcasts for BBC Radio 3. The members of the Artea trio also enjoy a diverse range of music making as individuals. Thomas Gould is a soloist and leader of Aurora Orchestra and Britten Sinfonia. Benjamin Roskams is also an experienced orchestral musician, having worked extensively with the Philharmonia, London Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestras as well as the BBC Symphony Orchestra, of which he is a member of the first violin section. Ashok Klouda is a member of The London International Players and cello octet Cellophony and is also co-founder/director of the Highgate International Chamber Music Festival.
